## For Parents:

The most essential document required for traveling abroad is a **passport**. Nowadays, many people, whether from rural or urban areas, already have a passport due to personal travel plans or future aspirations to go abroad. However, if you or your child do not yet have a passport, there is no need to worry—you can apply for one and even opt for the “Tatkal” (urgent) service to obtain it quickly.

Parents, while applying for your own passport, make sure to apply for your child’s passport as well. Many people think, *”There’s still a lot of time before my child goes abroad, so we’ll do it later,”* but this mindset can cause unnecessary delays.

The main reason to get a passport early is that students now have access to international opportunities even during their school years. These can include international study tours, summer programs, workshops, school trips, or even scholarship programs. Having a passport ready in advance will save you from last-minute hassles when such opportunities arise.
